The type of blends that lend themselves to being iced, aren't often ones I would drink hot. Let's face it, fruity blends, like Pineapple Sorbet, are MADE to be iced. It is a "summer essential" after all! With this attitude in mind, I obviously surprised myself, after brewing it hot, when I fell in love it!
A sweet sherbet, with an added fruitiness. Think rhubarb and custard sweets, rather than a juicy pineapple. A bit different to what you would expect, but it had my mouthwatering anyway, is yours too?
Truthfully, this blend isn't actually THAT fruity. I mean, it is fruity, with a faint hint of berry and a stronger lemon note that sits on the front of the tongue, providing a quick sour juiciness. The finish transcends from this into the slightly sweet, yet musty flavours of Chunmee, which overall is the predominant and lasting note of this blend. The final full flavour of green tea provides a clean finish, with some slight tannic vibes.
Chunmee translates as "Precious Eyebrows"!
It's great to see a fruity blend that doesn't focus predominantly on the fruit. I loved that the green tea came together WITH the fruit, rather than it being one or the other. Ultimately, Pineapple Sorbet taught me to always give it a go, because tea can, and will, surprise you.
