Tea Route, a loose leaf tea brand offering blends with unique Mediterranean twists, celebrated the official launch of their UK e-shop, with a press event in London, on the 4th October 2016.
Guests were greeted with a tea cocktail, crafted as a twist on the classic cosmopolitan, using Tea Routes Red Square, a fruit tea. Fancy making your own?
Cranberry Tea Cosmopolitan
Add 8 teaspoons of Red Square to 1 litre of water, leave to brew overnight in the fridge, then use as you would use your standard mixer (cranberry juice) - add cointreau, vodka, lime juice and a little bit of sugar to taste!
Guests were also able to taste a section of Tea Route teas, including; Black Fragrant Garden, Autumn Sonata, Mastiha Chai and Relax Tea. All of which were served alongside a selection and finger sandwiches and cakes!
Milena, who is running the UK branch of Tea Route, introduced guests to the origins and ethos of this family-run company. She explained how Tea Route started in Greece in 2001, but after much success is now expanding into the UK. Prior to the launch, Tea Route UK under went a phase of re-branding, in order differentiate and offer a clear focus on the companies healthy, beneficial and whole ingredients. She also explained that the company has a huge emphasis on quality. All tea leaves are sourced directly from India, Japan and China by her uncle and other ingredients, such as herbs, spices, fruits and flowers, are grown and sourced from small farms in Greece.
Not event is complete without a little something to take away! In true tea fashion everyone received a goodie bag with some Tea Route samples.
